Skateboarding isn’t just a hobby—it’s a skill—and not one that many people have, let alone cats. But Bao Zi, an American Shorthair from China, she’s tearing it up like a pro and just became one of the fastest skateboarding cats in the world and holds the latest Guinness World Record for “10m Fastest Skateboarding by a Cat.” He did it in just 12.85 seconds.
In the short video, Bao Zi doesn’t need the help of her man and trainer Li Jiangtao to break the record. The one-year-old cat easily climbs onto the skateboard, pushes forward and easily cruises to victory as fans watch. Welcome back, Tony Hawk.
Jiangtao is a very successful trainer and started skateboarding with his dog initially. But Bao Zi couldn’t let his canine brother have all the glory and ended up mastering skateboarding as well. Bao Zi’s skill set isn’t just limited to the skatepark – Bao Zi can also perform the following tricks:

If you’ve ever been jealous of your friends’ talented dogs and their repertoire of tricks, there’s no need. Cats, whether or not they have a desire to break a Guinness World Record, can also be pretty receptive to training if they have a patient and understanding owner.
You can train your cat to do tricks like high five, sit or come in the blink of an eye with the right attitude, and of course, the right treats. No skateboard required.
Training your cat is also a great way to bond with your catespecially if they are a newer member of your household. It’s also a great way to mentally stimulate your cat and prevent her from getting bored… or mischievous.
