Election Day is two months away, and Morris the Cat is hoping your pet will join his list. The 9Lives spokesperson and animal shelter advocate has announced his candidacy for President of the United States and is now looking for a running mate. Does your pet have what it takes to be a VP?
Here’s how to enter your dog or cat to become Morris’ cat choice for Vice President.
Morris the cat is orange tabby tomcat. Before he became a celebrity, Morris was a shelter cat who lived at the Humane Society in Hinsdale, Ill. One day, an animal talent researcher named Bob Martwick met Morris and convinced him to audition to be the spokesperson for 9Lives, cat food brand. It’s the rest to hisstory!
Whether she’s starring in commercials or visiting schools, Morris is always working to advocate for animals in need. That makes him the perfect candidate for office!
Why should your pet take a chance with Morris? Rest assured that Morris is a very experienced candidate, having run for president three times: 1988, 1992 and 2012. With the help of your pet, he could finally win!
Need even more convincing? Here are Morris’ 2024 statements he is advocating for the race.
Above all, Morris hopes his candidacy will put real focus on the importance of pet adoption, citing his humble beginnings as a shelter cat.
If Morris bats resonate with your furry friend, you can nominate your dog or cat to be elected as a Morris vice president. The nomination period is open until mid-September.
Finalists will be chosen by 9Lives representatives based on the following criteria:
If your puppy dog or cat makes it to the finals, the public will then vote on the decision! This is what we call a depawcracy.
The grand prize winning dog or cat will receive a $1,000 check, as well as the opportunity to donate $35,000 to the animal shelter of their choice, equal to the value of half a million 9Lives meals.
