While the world’s best athletes compete at the Summer Olympics in Paris, the world’s most impressive dogs are also showing off their talents online. Cleo and Abby, two greyhound sisters, are no exception, sniffing each other out in hopes of winning the gold.
Abby the borzoi and Cleo, the Silky Wind Dog, competed in their home’s semi-annual Noodle Olympics last week, with both pooches winning medals. Check out the TikTok contest he uploaded @cleolonglegs yourself.
First place in the prestigious Noodle Olympics was the High Tippy Tappy event, which is about “carefully maneuvering” through various objects. The more accurate the tippy tappies, the better the chance of gold.
Cleo made her way through the course with very little trouble – she must have scored a few points for the execution. Abby had a little more trouble, knocking over a few objects on her way through the course.
But Abby redeemed herself in event #2, Gobble Wobble, which tasked both dogs with walking down a corridor while gobbling pre-set treats in the fastest time. Abby’s finish time of 1 minute and 16 seconds beat Clea’s time of 1 minute and 24 seconds.
Here it is! Cleo won gold in High Tippy Tappy and Abby won gold in Gobble Wobble. Both dogs performed extremely well under the intense attention and high expectations of their fans.
With dedicated training, your own dog could rise to the canine sporting ranks. For starters, you can recreate the Noodle Olympics in your home or, if you have the space, you can make one DIY dog agility course in your backyard. There are many of them the benefits of agility trainingincluding curbing boredom and meeting your dog’s exercise needs. Plus, dog sports are great!
